Registration for Spring and Summer recreation programs in Gilroy is now open, and we’re excited to welcome families back to the pool for another great season of swim lessons.
The City of Gilroy’s Spring/Summer 2026 Recreation Guide is now available, featuring a wide variety of programs designed to keep residents active, learning, and connected throughout the warmer months. Registration officially opened March 12, 2026, giving families the opportunity to sign up for camps, sports, enrichment programs, and aquatic activities across the city.

For us at Swan Aquatics, this season is especially meaningful because it marks our fifth year partnering with the City of Gilroy to deliver professional aquatic programming for the community.
Five Years Serving the Gilroy Community
Over the past five years, our partnership with Gilroy has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of. Each season, we’ve had the opportunity to work with hundreds of local families, helping swimmers of all ages develop confidence and important water safety skills.
Some students arrive for their very first swim lesson, unsure about the water and holding tightly to the pool edge. By the end of the season, those same swimmers are floating, kicking, and swimming independently. Watching that transformation is one of the most rewarding parts of our work.
Our instructors focus not only on teaching strokes, but also on helping swimmers build comfort and confidence in the water. These skills are essential in California communities where pools, lakes, and beaches are a regular part of family life.
Programs offered through our partnership with Gilroy include group swim lessons, private instruction, aquatic fitness, and water safety education designed to serve both beginners and experienced swimmers.
Recreation That Strengthens Community
The City of Gilroy’s recreation guide reflects a broader commitment to building a vibrant and active community. In addition to aquatics, the guide includes dozens of programs that bring residents together through sports, arts, camps, and enrichment activities for all ages.
From youth summer camps and dance classes to sports leagues and adaptive recreation, these programs give families opportunities to stay engaged, meet neighbors, and explore new interests. Recreation programs like these help create the kinds of shared experiences that strengthen communities over time.
Aquatics plays an important role within that ecosystem. Swimming is not only a recreational activity—it is a life skill that promotes safety, confidence, and lifelong health.
A Model for Municipal Aquatic Partnerships
Our work in Gilroy also reflects a larger model that communities across the country are beginning to adopt. Many cities want to offer strong aquatic programming but face increasing challenges around staffing, training, safety compliance, and program management.
By partnering with experienced aquatic service providers, municipalities can maintain high-quality programming while ensuring pools remain safe, well-staffed, and accessible to residents.
Swan Aquatics works closely with cities and recreation departments to provide professional aquatics services that include swim lesson programming, lifeguard staffing and training, safety oversight, and program development. These partnerships allow communities to expand recreation opportunities while maintaining the highest standards for safety and service.
Our goal is always the same: help communities create aquatic environments where residents feel welcome, families feel safe, and swimmers of all ages can thrive.
