Starguard Elite Lifeguard Training

Duration of Class
Total Time is 23 hours. 8 am to 7:30 pm both days.
Prerequisites

- Participants must be at least 16 years of age to enter the course.
- Candidates must be able to exit the pool without the aid of a ladder, ramp, lift or zero-depth.
- Candidates must pass these minimum water skills to validate swimming ability and endurance at a level that is appropriate for the in-water course work required of the candidate:
- swim 50 yards/meters without stopping
- swim 50 yards/meters with a rescue tube across the chest
- tread water for 1 minute without the use of the hands
- retrieve weighted object off the bottom (minimum 10 lbs or 4.5 kg.)
Required Online Course
Prior to the in-class session, all students must complete the Online Training Course and bring in proof to verify the online portion is complete. Instructions on completing the online course will be emailed to you once you register for the course.
Certifications Issued
Pool, Waterpark & Waterfront Lifeguard Certification - valid for 1 year.
Please note:
There are no refunds once you register and payment has been received. This policy includes students who do not pass there prerequisites or do not attend all classes for the entire duration of class, do not pass Red Cross required skills with proficiency or do not pass the written final with a minimum score of 80 percent.
Transfer Fee:
If you do not pass the prerequisites, you are entitled to transfer the course to a later date. You must complete a transfer request form and pay the $45 fee to schedule a future class within 6 months of the original registration.
