Red Cross Instructor Trainers (LGIT & WSIT) — Lead the Future of Aquatic Safety

The Swimming Swan is seeking experienced Lifeguard Instructor Trainers (LGIT) and Water Safety Instructor Trainers (WSIT) to join our elite instructional team. As an Instructor Trainer, you’ll be responsible for preparing, mentoring, and certifying the next generation of Red Cross Instructors, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, skill, and professionalism.

You’ll do more than certify new instructors — you’ll inspire leadership, maintain quality assurance, and help us expand access to lifesaving skills throughout the communities we serve.

🛟 Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Instructor-level training courses in Lifeguarding (LGI) and/or Water Safety (WSI) disciplines.

  • Mentor, evaluate, and certify Instructor Candidates according to American Red Cross standards.

  • Support SwanCPR and The Swimming Swan’s quality assurance programs by providing guidance and feedback to new instructors.

  • Maintain compliance with Red Cross protocols and company standards at all times.

  • Participate in regular in-service training and assist with program updates.

  • Represent The Swimming Swan with professionalism, leadership, and dedication to aquatic safety.

 


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 19 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current and valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT) and/or Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) certification.

  • Current and valid Instructor certifications in Lifeguarding and/or Water Safety.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience teaching Instructor-level courses.

  • Strong understanding of the Red Cross Learning Center, roster management, and certification processes.

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and evaluate candidates with fairness and professionalism.

  • Ability to travel to various training locations; travel expenses are covered.

  • Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership skills.
